Profoundly anchored in the Middle Ages when it was first created
and when it had its finest hour, stained Glass is also a faithful
mirror of the centuries that followed.

Stained-glass workshop for children
Mariotte de Boissy covers the country looking for new apprentices
for her husband Bernold de Cormeilles' stained glass workshop. She
is going to initiate them in the delicate work of painting on glass,
grisaille, by having them reproduce parts of several masterpieces
which represent the heritage of French medieval stained glass. The
"gamins", as apprentice stained-glass workers were called, in groups
of four, will learn in the space of twenty minutes to trace them,
model and lift... Children will leave rewarded with a glass-painter's
diploma in their name.
